Sharpen Reading Activities

In this activity, the Learner practices clapping out the syllables in a small number of words to prepare for more extensive work with two-syllable words. Clapping out the syllables in a word is an easy task for most children kindergarten age or older. Using the words like "help," "helpful," and "helpfulness," we demonstrate each word, and ask the Learner to repeat the word and clap it out in syllables on her own.
